My Philosophy
Every person is a unique, whole individual with innate capabilities to connect to themselves and others. Well-being may look different for each individual, but we all can strive to be the most authentic version of ourselves. Every person can use music as a means of expression, relating, and achieving personalized goals. I believe the therapeutic relationship between the client and music therapist using music is a conduit to exploration of the self and all its nuances. We each bring our own story, and add to the larger story of humanity with our contributions.
I meet the client where they are and focus on strengths while developing goals of self actualization. This may look different for everybody. Goals may include areas of communication, educational, motor, social, spiritual and sensory. All walks of life are a journey worth celebrating.
No musical expertise is needed to benefit from music therapy. We all have within us an innate connection to the arts as a part of humanity, and music is for everybody. Together we can explore this connection.
